Music Ensembles of 2011/2012

Concert Bands

There are two concert bands at Dunbarton. 

The Junior Concert Band is made up of grade 9 and 10 students. 

It rehearses every Tuesday after school from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

This year the Junior Concert Band is conducted by Mrs. Barth.

The Senior Concert Band is made up of grade 11 and 12 students.

It rehearses every Wednesday at lunch and every Thursday

after school from 3:00 to 4:45 p.m.

 Mrs. Barth is the conductor of Senior Concert Band.

Jazz Bands

The Junior Jazz Band is made up of grade 9 and 10 students

who are also part of the Junior Concert Band.

It rehearses on Monday after school from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. 

On the first Monday of every month, the rehearsal takes place at

lunch instead of after school.

Mr. Sundal is the director of the Junior Jazz Band.

The Senior Jazz Band is made up of grade 11 and 12 students

who are also part of the Senior Concert Band.  This is

an auditioned ensemble.  The Senior Jazz Band rehearses

every Monday at lunch and Wednesday after school from

3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

This year Mr. Sundal is the director of Senior Jazz Band.

Choirs

There are five choirs at the school this year.  We rehearse every week except the week of December 19 to 23, 2011. 

We also do not rehearse in the morning of any formal exam day.  We continue rehearsing

until the Wonderland Festival in the Spring. 

Miss Joyce is the director of the choirs.

Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is made up of all the students in the school who wish to

sing in the choirs.  It is open to all without audition. 

The rehearsal is every Tuesday morning

at 7:30 a.m.

This choir is the "gate" to all the other choirs. 

Students who wish to sing in other ensembles must be part of the Concert Choir.

Men's Chorus 

The Men's Chorus rehearses every Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.

It is a non-auditioned group that is open to any Bass or Tenor who is a member of the Concert Choir. 

Girls' Choir

The Girls' Choir rehearses every Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m.

It is a non-auditioned group that is open to any Soprano or Alto who is a member of the Concert Choir.

Chamber Choir

The Chamber Choir is an auditioned choir made up of students who are also members of the Concert Choir.

This choir rehearses every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Jazz Choir

The Jazz Choir is an auditioned choir made up of students who are also members of the Concert and Chamber Choirs.

This choir rehearses every Friday morning at 7:30 a.m.
