Welcome to the Grade 12 Biotechnology (University Preparation) website. This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore developments in the field of biotechnology and genomics using laboratory investigations, and inquiry skills. Students will use interdisciplinary approaches to explore theoretical and practical aspects of molecular biology and techniques. Students will study recent developments in genomics, products, research methods, processes, and careers in fields such as medicine, agriculture, and the environment. Students will also evaluate the economic, political, social, cultural, environmental, and ethical issues raised by biotechnology.
